All levels: Beginner to Advanced
For the first time, we are offering our class on two different nights. No more waiting lists!
Our January design may be our very class design to date. Since we are entertaining the cold-weather months, we want to reflect the hidden beauty of winter. We also think that it is very important to bring a hint of sunny colors and warmth into your home. We started with Birch paper covering a glass cylinder so that we could work with water (Techniques #1 and #2). Birch is popular year-round in Loudoun County and learning to adapt your vessel makes an ordinary cylinder very versatile.
We always want to teach you about the unique and un-explored flower varieties that are available to us here in the United States. Using different varieties forces you to become better at stem analysis (Technique #3). So, we are using very special Double and Ruffled Tulips, Ranunculus, Astilbe, white Hellebore, Privet Berry, Geranium Leaves and the incredibly-scented Eriostemon.
Additionally, this arrangement has an S-shape design (Technique #4). All of our classes this year have been in symmetrical shapes. Now, we help you learn how to create movement in your design.
Lastly, forcing bulbs (Technique #5) is an age-old method of bringing lasting floral beauty in to the home. There are many home methods and tips that have been used over the years to urge these lovely "geophytes" out of their protective home in the simplest of vessels. You'll leave with a second arrangement that will appear soon after our class.
We have highlighted a few of the techniques that we will cover, and yet, we will cover so much more. We are excited to have you bring a friend, sip some wine in the warmth of our studio. Then, we will head to our production space to get to work on the arrangement and the smaller forced bulb in a cylinder space.
Cost of the Class: $125
