Centerpieces for Every Occasion

Jennifer Morris

Last month, J. Morris Flowers had the opportunity to participate in an Engagement Party hosted by Shadow Creek Weddings and Events in Purcellville. Our task was to provide brides-to-be with a number of centerpiece and decor ideas for their rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception.

In addition to a beautiful arch, which provided an a-symmetrical loose and whimsical look for an indoor ceremony, we had five gorgeous tables on display. Each one had their own theme and provided everyone with a vision of what J. Morris Flowers can do in order to make your day one-of-a-kind!

Table #1 featured a loose and rustic arrangement in 2015’s color of the year Marsala, matched with sage green and deep blue in a wood box full of Peonies, ranunculus, succulents, roses, and moss, paired with antique silver vessels filled with more succulents on a jute tablecloth.

This is a fantastic look for fall but adding in a few light colors can make it a successful look for anytime of the year.

Table #2 was full of  spring! Citrus colors (yellow, coral, orange and fresh green) were paired with antique white milk glass vessels including Viburnum, ranunculus, tea roses, Lisianthus and Leucedendron – on a navy table with casual white chairs.

Table #3 was for the romantics. It featured whites and blush on a champagne linen – a tall arrangement on a gold candlestick riser filled with blush Peonies and Ranunculus, White roses, white hydrangea, bits of blooming Spirea branches, and green hanging Amaranthus.

Lower arrangements were added in gold vessels with more soft blooms. We also added gold votives for a glamorous accent.

Table #4 was very modern and had extra tall bud vases filled with Peonies and Ranucnulus in shades of pink on a long style table in a champagne and gold pattern. More low arrangements added the pink color at the base of the arrangements. Gold votives and lucite chairs rounded out this look.

Table #5, also referred to as the King’s table, was front and center as guests entered the room. It featured an Amish-made farm table from A la Carte Catering in addition to three of our antique candelabras with extra tall taper candles for a dramatic effect.

An all Eucalyptus table runner was layered overtop of a burlap runner filled with Peonies, tea roses and Stock. More gold votives were nestled into the greenery.

The table was finished off with delicate glassware with a lacey accented edge, vineyard style chairs and two special seats for the new “Mr. and Mrs.”.” This table was definitely a conversation piece.
